From 1 to 4 March 2016, the European Youth Foundation (EYF) of the Council of Europe organised a seminar with representatives of international and local youth NGOs at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg. Migrafrica was among the invited participants since our organization cooperates with the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe to efficaciously implement some of our social inclusion projects. The seminar strengthened close working cooperation with the European Youth Foundation and helped us understand more about the European Youth Foundation, the Council of Europe and about their priorities.
We also had a chance to explain what we do and what our priorities are. Through this candid communication we have strengthened our fruitful cooperation and the future possibilities of working together on similar projects. The seminar was also an opportunity to strengthen our capacity in project management and gender mainstreaming. Migrafrica met about 40 similar international and local youth organizations and broadened our network throughout Europe.
The seminar also created a space for us to strengthen our relationship with the African Diaspora Youth Network in Germany (ADYNE). With the representative of ADYNE we have discussed how we can concretely cooperate on the issues of African migrant and refugee youth issues in Europe.
We sincerely thank the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe for the opportunity and hope EYF continues its support for Migrafrica so we can build our capacity to address some of the issues of the African migrant youth in Europe.
